Having majored in Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, Britt credits Chairman Ed Bedno and the late Phil Meggs with teaching and epitomizing the ability to conceptualize and think graphically. Ed Bedno later became the Director of Exhibitions for Chicago's Field Museum, and subsequently took over the position of Chief of Exhibitions at the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C. He has written, Museum Exhibitions: Past Imperfect, Future Tense. The beloved Phillip B. Meggs later became the Chairman of the CA&D Department at VCU in 1974, and wrote The History of Graphic Design, which remains the celebrated and definitive work in that field.
